“But I’m just a soul whose intentions are good…
Oh Lord, please don’t let me be misunderstood.”__ Gloria Caldwell, Sol Marcus, Bennie Benjamin for Nina Simone (1964), hit single for The Animals (1965)
I’m a mother, a grandmother, an English Major, a History Major, a sometimes writer and most-of-the-time “thinker”. The most important thing a person can ever discover is her “identity in Christ”, and that discovery is a lifetime project. For at least sixty years, I have …
- lived in the South
- started more things than I’ve finished
- made more mistakes than a typewriter with a missing “e” key
- always searched for “the silver lining”
- hoped for a “simple and uncomplicated” life
In all that time, I have…
- achieved a measure of contentment
- raised five kids
- had a career in Early Childhood Education—which came as a surprise to me
- kept company with cats, dogs, and a host of “weird” people—toward most of whom I have borne genuine affection, if not always “respect”
(sigh) No one is perfect. But I’ve always said, “Chocolate covers a multitude of evils.” So, welcome to my blog. It’s one of the things I started, and I may or may not finish.
